Hey there friends! I forgot that I went to WonderCon in March so I’ll give a brief update on everything that I saw…along with some pictures to ease the boring text blocks.
I believe the date was March 17 when my sister and I went. Yep, that’s right. It was St. Patrick’s Day. I have to admit that WonderCon was more exciting that I thought it would be. I met a lot of interesting people and experienced total nerd-dom – which was amazing. It was like a toned down version of ComicCon. The only downside to going on that particular day was that it was raining. No, it was pouring that day…so much so that it was raining sideways. I’m not even kidding. My sister and I were drenched by the time we got to the convention center – seeing as how we parked at a Disneyland parking area because the parking structure for the convention center was full by the time we got there.
There were a lot of different cosplayers that I should’ve taken pictures of but didn’t get the chance…and/or because I was somewhat shy to ask them. Thinking about it now, I should’ve just gone with my instinct and took pictures of them. Oh well. You live and you learn, right?
I think one of the highlights of that adventure was meeting Felicia Day…yes, that’s right. We met her. The way that we met her was somewhat entertaining. We were walking through the many booths in the building when I looked over at the pumpkin carving table and saw someone that I recognized. My eyes automatically went like this O_O and I just continued walking while staring at her. As I passed the table, I told my sister that I think I saw someone famous. By this time we were several feet away because I was explaining to my sister what shows Felicia Day had been in in order to jog her memory. My sister freaked out a bit and said, “this is going to be the only chance that we’re going to see her. Let’s go take a picture with her.”And so we did just that. We took a picture with her. She is so pretty and her skin is so perfect. Seriously. Anyway, we asked if we can take a picture with her and she said, “sure, but quickly” (or something along those lines). After the pictures were taken, she suggested for us to go view her panel. She was so nice! Ah!!
I believe after that we went to the large panel rooms because I wanted to watch the extended preview for the Amazing Spiderman. At the time, I wasn’t sure if Emma Stone (the main reason why I decided to go) was actually going to be there because the WonderCon booklet said that she was going to make an “appearance.” I was afraid that she was only going to appear via webcam or whatever because she was in New York the day before. But low and behold, a BUNCH of actors were there. I was actually shocked to see how many were there! I’ll just post images of some of my favorites.
Apologies for the weird layout of these pictures. I was trying to get them to go three in a row but apparently, that can’t happen. Being able to see Emma Stone was the definite highlight of the day. I was so happy to finally see her in real life. She inspires me so much; I can’t even explain to you my admiration for her. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy these pictures even though they are kind of blurry. Until next time!
