Recap: first half of 2013

Hi reader!

I hope you are doing well :) Surprisingly, the weather is kind of nice in southern California right now. According to my mom, it rained this morning! Yay! Let’s see how long it lasts before the sea of fire comes back though…

For this blog post, I wanted to go over the first half of 2013. As I’ve mentioned in one of my previous posts, 2013 has somewhat been a boring year so far. I actually foresaw this though because I wanted to focus on my future this year – such as figuring out what I want to do and getting things ready to start my  real grown up life. If 2012 was the year of new beginnings and experiences, then 2013 (so far) is the year that I get my shit together. Let’s get started, shall we? :)

Recap: latter half of 2012

Hi reader!

This post will focus on the adventures from the latter half of 2012 since I pushed off updating my blog for a while. Might as well catch up now so I can start updating things that are more relevant to the present day!

C’est la vie for a month: a recap from one year later

Hi reader!

As I promised, I am posting a quick recap of my time in France last year. I didn’t update very much last year because I was very busy, and I wanted to spend a lot of my time outside doing things. For the most part, I actually did document a lot by writing down some important events that happened on my phone’s calendar and took some pictures here and there. I guess I should start where I kind of left off then! Let’s get started, shall we?

C’est la vie for a month: Part 1

Bonjour!!

I hope everyone is doing well. I apologize for not posting anything since I have been in Paris, but things are crazy here! Well, maybe not crazy. More like life has been a whirlwind of events but in a good way! I’ve made many new friends who I feel like I’ve known for years…even though we’ve only known each other for like two weeks. I think it’s because we’ve been through a lot together (specifically getting lost) so that has made us closer? I don’t know, but I love everyone!

Other than that, life as definitely been very eventful here. When I try to think about what I’ve done the past two weeks, I can barely even recall what happened. I usually have to check my itinerary to remember what happened. Despite the fact that I have trouble remembering what happened (due to fatigue + constant events), I absolutely love it here! Things are slightly different here compared to home but I think I’m getting used to it. For example, people don’t smile around here. That bugged me the first week we were here but now I’m getting used to it. And I’ve picked up the habit of not smiling either! So please excuse me when I come back and I look bored/angry/whatever. It’s just me being neutral. Ah, what a strange habit to pick up but it’s definitely helped me in trying to blend in around here. I even got asked by a French girl where something was located the other day. Of course I didn’t know so I told her, “Oh, je ne sais pas.”

Anyway, since I procrastinated in blogging my first 2 weeks here, I’m going to write down things by date below so you can follow my adventure. Don’t worry! I have a good long term memory so I’ll be able to recall a lot :) so bear with me!

Disney’s California and Disneyland

Hello there!

Recently, my sister and I went to Disneyland and Disney’s California (DC). It was really fun! I think we got lucky a lot of the times for particular rides and meeting characters. The DC day wasn’t as fun as the Disneyland day though…mainly because it was a holiday weekend and there were a lot of people. DC day was still pretty cool though; we were able to do things that we were never able to do…like watch the Aladdin show and go on the Little Mermaid ride. That was entertaining. On the other hand, Disneyland was way more exciting. We got to take pictures with multiple characters, watch the parade that they had, and watch the Fantasmic show (is that what it’s called?). We also got really lucky with the lines for certain rides like Indiana Jones and Pirates. I lost my ticket while waiting in line for Indiana Jones though…so that was a drag. However, I think it benefited us somehow because we were still able to go on all of the rides that we wanted. For example, we went on Space Mountain twice!! :D The first time we went on, the ride broke down on us at the very end. The second time we went on, we got the front row! That was amazing. It’s my favorite ride at Disneyland. However, I always find myself drooling like a dog on that ride for some reason. I guess I get too excited. Continue Reading…
